Got a little bored this past week. I made my own harness a while back, and I do not have them tuned to the PCM. I wanted to have some control instead of having them on low all the time. I wanted to be able to have them both "off" for long road trips. So I made a 2 way (SPDT) switch for my fans. Here's some crummy pics with the work camera, but you get the idea. It's a switch, some leds, a diode, and that's it. Down is low, red led. Center is off, up is high, and both leds.
My a/c worked great with just having the fans on low, but it got old hearing the fans come on and off for the a/c. I drove to work with the fans off completely this morning, and it was 87 something. The truck warmed up fast, and stayed at "normal," nothing past it. It was mixed of 9 miles driving. The a/c didn't do a thing while I was at a light, but cooled off once I got moving. With both fans on high on the freeway, it can get cold really fast inside.
