I picked one up off craigslist for $600 with accessories and wiring harness. I didn't care how many miles were on it since its being torn down to be rebuilt. LQ4's are great for boost since they have a lower compression ratio (9:1 I think). If you are not going to boost it you might want to put the heads from your 5.3 on it to boost the compression ratio and really watch it rip.

Thanks guys. My buddy put stock 241's on his because his 317's were messed up. That compression bump sure helped lol.

I take that back.... its a 2004... they want $450 for the engine harness and ECU! and 425 for the 4l80e... think im going to offer him 750-800 for both... also what you all think the benefits are of spending 425 more on a 4l80e vs putting on the 700r4 with case that i have? installation and performance etc? also any benefits of the 04 case vs say 87 case that i have with my 700r4?

thanks!

prices sound in the ball park range i think. how many miles on eng and trans? you say you doing this in k10.... did you swap the front end with a ford unit or still stock axle the newer tcase is gona be a driver side drop for the shaft and im fairly sure if its an auto track tcase the front shaft turns all the time (it does in my 02 tahoe anyway). im in process of doing the same thing in an 84 k10 only im using the original 4 speed man for now till i get my nv4500 together and order my adapter to make it mate to the 205 tcase

does the eng come with all accories? starter, maf are the big items
