Lose Gear Selector/Shifter
#11
yeah im pretty sure that the slop would be in the fittings on the end of the cable or movement where the cable mounts, parker when your shifting through the gears does it feel like there is resistance to movement between gears, are they firm clunks when shifting? and its just the good ol floppy lever, like mine i can wobble mine up about and down about an inch and a half no matter what gear.
i kinda thought it was normal....well more like kept telling myself it was normal.

stop with the crack pot ideas. Adjust your shift cable. Theres a bracket where the 2 pieces come together on the driverside just outside of the frame rail (under the body). Try adjusting it before you start ripping off the PRNDL switch and what not.
I had almost the same symptoms with my tranny swap (I also had my VSS and Connector wrong so it wouldnt show D or turn off my reverse lights), adjusted the cable and its fine. My PRNDL switch is still fucked tho so I have cruise issues. Hope this helps
