if u shop around u can get things used that r n good shape,i was running mid 12 with a 5.3 i think u can get cam springs efans pulleys and cold air intake for less than 1k then save up for a tune and gears and u will be set

 

He is talking about buying a new one so you can scratch efans off the list. 05 and up has them.

 

There is still no comparisson from the 5.3 to 6.0. But there are a few 12 sec N/A 5.3's around
