Default Looking at 04 Denali or Escalade?

Can get a deal on either of these vehicles used from people I know who are getting rid of them. These vehicles are both basically the same, both have a 6.0L with AWD right? Is the awd system one that sends power to the fronts at all times or is it more of a "slip-then-grip" system? What sort of mileage should one expect from both or either of these? Someone said the Escalade requires premium fuel, is that true? Does the Denali? Any particular reason to go for the one model or the other or skip them both? FYI, I should be able to get either vehicle for about $22K, but the Denali has much less miles, both are in great shape and very well taken care of. THanks.

Considering you have an 04 Denali, care to comment on any of the questions I asked with a more in depth answer?

Sent you a PM,
I was going to comment on the MPG but I have a Sierra Denali and I am pretty sure you are talking about a Yukon Denali,
The AWD transfer case is 38% front and 62% rear all the time and will transfer all the way to 100% to front or rear to keep traction. It is the one of the best transfer cases out there. Great in the snow and rain. But if you like roasting the rear tires you won't be able to. I run a 13.0 in the 1/4 and I can't spin the rears even if I tried. even if the ground is slightly damp all I will feel is the power shifting to the front.

THanks for the follow up. How about the fuel requirements? Does the Caddy require premium along with the Denali or just the Caddy?

When I first bought my truck I ran a few tanks of 87 octane and than I put 91 octane and got better MPG, it made up the differance and more. I think it is well worth putting 91 octane in. But to answer your question you can put 87 octane in the Denali. Now that I have the Supercharger I have to put 91 octain in and when I go to the track I put 100 octane in. I hope you decide on the Denali, there is no better vehicle out there IMHO
