the sportside is lighter, but less aerodynamic. the way to go is to get one of the pro-tec fleetside box's. they are almost the same weight as the sporside and keep the aerodynamic's. not to mention they hold up to abuse a ton better.

My Truck Race Ready Last Year @ Thunder Shoot Out Weight In @ Either 4240 R 4040 With Me In It And A 1/4 Tank Of Gas. I Don't Remmber The Exact Weight I Have Wighed It So Many Times I Will Weight It As Soon As It Gets Back Together Again

no spare, no tailgate, 1/4 tank gas, without me in it, weighed in at 4075. also i have the ls package if that makes it heavy or not.

4700 or 4800 cant remeber , with me in it . truck in sig . and i dont remember how much gas was in it . i cant think now

I'm almost always riding solo so I guess I can't use that weight reduction tip.

Seriously though, it looks to me like it'd be harder to hook with a sportside bed 'cuz while it does weigh less its reduced where it doesn't need to be reduced. Are there any comparos for trucks with similar mods but different beds? I don't remember seeing any even though somebody has posted this sometime.
