Unfortuately, in the state of Texas, they are not required to show you the radar. Also, in court, they will ask when the last time the radar was calibrated, and coincidentally, they will say right before they clocked you. Asking for a discovery like you are suggesting is just a waste of time and will cost you more in the long run.

Your can plead innocent and hope that the officer doesn't show up. That is taking a chance because once you plea, most likely, you have lost all bargaining power. If you plead no contest, there is a chance that the DA will work with you and give you deferred, etc. You can talk to him privately before your case comes up. The bad side is, the judge just may say "ok guilty" and issue you the sentence.

Personally, if you are in a situation where a ticket is really gonna hurt you, I would either get an attorney to help you get it "dismissed", or talk to the DA a few days earlier and explain your case (admit your guilt) and ask if he can work something out.

To get out of a ticket for speeding without the officer showing up is almost next to impossible.

Oh, and I am not an attorney or anything, but I did sleep at a Holiday Inn last night! Seriously, just my pieces of advice. Do your howework first though! Good luck!

 

sounds like good advice to me! i wouldn't have no problem talking to the DA if i thought it would do some good.
