Leaking Heater Core (I think)
2000 Silverado 4.3L 4L60E
I was just looking to get some additional opinions before I decide to tear the dash off the truck. I have coolant coming out of the pinch and then I also have coolant coming out of a drain that I believe is for the A/C. The windows fog up when I use the defrost in cold weather and there is a distinctive smell of coolant when I run the heater.
My only issue is the carpet is not wet which is a symptom I often hear. I attached some pictures. Just want to be 100% certain before I attempt this because the process looks awful. Thank you!

Well I started pulling the heater core out and after about 6 hours I got to the heater core. The heater core was definitely the problem. It was noticeably wet and there was a big puddle of coolant beneath it. The quick disconnects on the heater core suck and they are the worst. I didn't reuse them. I just used the screw tight clamps. They are way more trouble than they are worth.
Note: I did not have any wet carpet so this does not have to be a symptom of a leaking heater core.
