Wan't speed engineering talking about mass fabbing a 4 link/coilover setup for our trucks? They built a nice one for that blue stepside, and I seem to remember him saying the ones they were going to mass produce were looking better than it. I've been looking forward to them getting it together.

i am not saying i plan on doing this but i may try some 2wd action eventualy. hang the wheels type of thing. i really dont think a 9" is over kill for a 5000lb truck that will likely push 1200+rwhp eventualy.
i dont know much about rear ends but i do know i only want to do this once. i want to get rid of the c-clips and have an unbreakable rear end. weather it is a 60 or a 9" or a 12bolt i dont care. i dont know what the diferences are or what would make one a better choice than the others but i do know i would like to buy a complete unit ready to toss in if i can. or at least a rear all assembeled and ready for my spring perches and shock mounts.

Definitely go with a 9 inch, I purchased my Fab 9 from Chris Alston Chassis Works for my 68 Camaro.
If Ford made a such a bad *** rear axle, then why did they take it off the market?
Don't go with the 8.8", a lot more parts are avaible the 9". If a 9" can hold up to a dragster, then your truck will be no problem, here is a site with some photos. Dana 60 are great axles, but finding used one could be a trick since every rockcrawler, offroader, and mudrunner wants them. Most Dana 60 are 8 lug axles unless you get custom axles.

all 60's are 8lug and MOST are full floaters if hes going to be drag racing he probably well be going with a custom 60 (which are easy to come by) with bolt in axles im not 100% sure but I think Currie builds 60's too

With all that power and torque I'd call Moser and have him custom build you an axle exactly the way you really need it. They know their stuff and you'll only have to do it once.
