Default Knock or Thump in you Steering Shaft or Steering Wheel?

Hey all....if you suffer from the always present Knock or Thumpin in your steering wheel or steering cloumn, now there's some relief.

GM has started distributing the New Design of the Intermediate Steering Shaft! The do have some constraints on ordering them. But if you'll call your dealership and request this part # 19153614 then they should be able to order you a new one! At long last!

So far the new shaft has shown no problems like the old ones. We have installed about 6 so far with no comebacks. This new shaft has a sealed end and a kind os dry slide like lubricant. The older one had an open end (hence the leaking of the lube) and used like a white grease.

As of now the retail is about $96.00 but I try to turn em' out at $69.99

it's stupid that GM does not offer it at what they pay for them at, since this is the upteenth time they're released a new design

na wheel bearings are the dumbest designed part. they used to be two part back before the 88 models came out. now they are a one piece deal and they keep putting bigger wheels and tires and expect the bearing to hold up!
i have gone through 3 on my 04 and 2 on the 02!!! JUNK!!!

My 02 denali has an audible and physical pop when turning the wheels left, and another when centering again. IS this the issue described here? My problem only showed up in the last couple of months for some reason, not long after I put the eibach swaybars on. I can find no play in any part of the front end though.

Are you supplying this part yourself? If so I may be interested in buying, if you think it is my problem. I am fairly stumped otherwise...
