key wont turn to off position

Default key wont turn to off position

i can get the truck to start and turn off but i cant get it to fully go to the off position so i have to keep disconnecting my battery when i get to work or go home or where ever i may be.. i tried installing a new ignition cyclinder and it didnt help.

The shifter mechanism is messed up, there is a pin that goes into the lock cylinder to lock the shifter when in park.

there a black wire on the bottom side of the housing (i guess thats what you call it?) and if i pop it out i can turn the key all the way off but then i cant turn it on i have to push it back in to turn all the way on.
