Here's some more info I found that refers to molybendum...it's from a test Amsoil had done to pit their product vs. Royal Purple...

Maybe Im mistaken, but once the rings actually seat, youll be fine..correct?..thats why its not recommended to use synthetic on a new build, so the rings will seat. Is this false info or true?..I figured is the Mobil 1 info is true like you say, if your rings are seated and you have been using synthetic for a while, it shouldnt effect your rings. or am i jus talking out of my *** again?..ha

I ran reg. Penzoil 5w30 in my truck for the first 9k miles. I just changed over last weekend to synthetic. I went with the Penzoil Synthetic since I've always had good luck with Penzoil. I figured I'd try it out for the first Synthetic Cycle. How often are you guys changing your Syn.Motor Oil?
