Default I've got a new toy !!!!

1968 Buick Skylark Special (it looks like a GS)

350 Buick Motor
2 Speed Powerglide.....

It's got a straight body, perfectly restored interior, Hellwig sway bars, MSD Ignition, and American Racing Smoothie 15x7 rims

Anyone know what's involved in swapping an LS1/4L60e into a GM A-body ???

cool car, my buddy had 70. It sounds like a 700R4 swap is in order with today's fuel prices

I want to do an LQ4/4L60e swap.....but I'm rather concerned about just how much work it will be to do so, I'm probably gonna look at doing a conversion to a Chevy 454/700R4....that will still move like crazy and it's pretty much a direct swap except for the motor mounts

Because I helped put the 350 that's in this car into it....and I KNOW how heavy that was, do you have any idea just HOW HEAVY a 455 is ????? I'm not sure my engine lift will pick a 455 up !!!...Buick motors are FREAKIN' HUGE compared to Chevys

On a more serious note though....a 455 is gonna be pretty expensive because they just don't have the following or the production numbers that Chevy BB's and SB's have, I'll save myself $2-3K by swapping to a Chevy motor (all that's needed is the Chvey tranny and the $60 Trans-Dapt engine mount kit)

What about a 502/502hp crate (pricey)? Glides suck unless its just for racing, whoa I kinda forgot about em. I think they make mounts for the t56 and they have universal bell housings for a-bodies. What about a zz4 or a junkyard lt1. Chevy power in a Buick sounds good to me .
