You need to separate the bottom part of the bucket from the whole assembly. There should be 3 retaining clips along the top edge which you can use some small flat head screwdrivers to pry up.

I was looking at the wrong instructions earlier.

I am not sure that you will be able to remove the hose from the original pump and get it to seal on the new pump. If you can get it removed and get it to seal it will be fine. Yes you can splice and heat shrink the new plug to the old one.

i suggest changing out the stock hose, there prone to leak and i had to go back and replace mine anyway later. Also heat shrink will soak up and expand, get some weather proof butt connecters, they have a heat shrink coating and dont soak up fuel.

I'm back to working on my truck. What do you guys suggest to use for fuel hose. I wrecked the stock one but i did manage to pull out the fitting that goes to the filter. I have heard that regular fuel hose swells up as well when its in the gas tank and can come loose?

Well i tried napa and they dont stock the submersible gates hose. They can only order it in 100ft rolls at 27$ per foot so $2700 lol - no thanks!
I have the day off tomorrow so i will try a few different places to find some SAE30R10 fuel hose. It sucks when such a minor thing holds stuff up for so long. But i would rather do it right once than have to redo it over.
What is the fuel pump sleeve made out of on magnachargers website? I think i could probably zip tie the pump to the bucket. Or how do you guys keep it from moving around?

The sleeve is some foam stuff, nothing fancy.
This is the hose you want, might want to double check the size though. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...d=390213460121

Well i got some of the gates submersive hose and i found some heavy duty neoprene foam at the hardware store and made a sleeve with zip ties. I took apart the stock connector and walbro connector and fitted the walbro connector onto the factory harness. Put it all back together and it works great. Thanks for all of the help guys! It was really easy. I spent more time looking for the hose and neoprene than i spent changing out the fuel pump.

bringing back a dead one. Did you do this upgrade on a returnless style? On the magnasun website there kit has the sleeve, hose, and fitting. does anybody know what the hose size is and what the brass fitting is called? Im assuming its 3/8ths to 5/16ths? sent you a pm black04.
