intake swap question

Default intake swap question

so im swaping a 2010 intake w injectors,92 mm throttle boby delete egr to my 2000 silverado 5.3L will it start and run to dyno shop or is mail order tune needed prior to swap inf feed back please what have you other guys done

As long as you have all the right fuel system changes and the x link for the tb, it should be fine.

I thought the 2010's were rectangle ports? :/

It is a cathedral port as long as the motor it came from was a 5.3..... You cannot put a rectangle port head on a small bore motor as the valves will strike the deck surface.

Only 6.0/6.2 are rectangular port requires a 4" or larger bore to accomodate the huge valves they have

its a 5.3L from vortex max motor cathedral port im concerned w it running after wo tune right away people said it wont run wo tune ?

It will idle and put around but wot will suck until you get the tune mostly due to the injectors being higher pressure and different parameters are needed

I can't remember if unused the injectors from a TBSS when I did the swap. But you can swap intakes and use you injectors And it will run fine, then use the bigger injectors when you are going to get it tuned

I used the injectors that were on my intake and wot sucked but idled fine and low rpm driving was ok.... Idle speed was bigger issue
