My hypercrap only put the limiter to 128. Do the new ones have an unlimited? It's got to be the 6.0 engine cover and white face gauges that make it go 150. If he lists it again i'll ask him some questions. I've been in a stock lightning and it really maxes out at 142 mph, not computer controlled but physically can't go faster with the air resistance. Some people are just plain stupid

Don't believe, I will give you the address of my shop. For your info, any 5.3L short bed automatic with 3.42's and no speed limiter and v rated tires, stock will top 140 mph in 4th gear! Stock! 1500 lbs. lighter than the SS! With no limiter this truck hits 133+ in third and tops 150 in 4th! Remember 1500lbs lighter and about 340+ HP! Stock 5.3'S with a KN & exhaust put out over 305 HP. Remember I had two of these! The other one had twin Nitrous systems + everything this one has. I also had a built 1996 SS Impala, Built 1997 SS Camaro, and so on and so on! All the way back to my Killer 1965 SS Chevelle with a 350HP, 4spd. that stomped GTO's, 442's, 426's you name it. I've have given Lightning owners rides and shocked them with this truck. Rides, because they wouldn't bet $500.00! . 1500lbs makes a BIG difference. Enough!
In the auction he has "Z rated" tires listed, not "V".
and by twin nitrous systems, does he mean dual stage?
If I had a lightning, I'd take this guys money so i could go buy some mods

i've got 500.00 to blow, LS 2000 fully loaded same truck as his.
a supercharged well tuned 4.8 set at 9psi, a free flowing ext. and a k&n too breath with and my speed limit is set to 142 for shut down and i will hit 142 in 4th before i reach 6000 rpm's, i have done allot more, like some of you guys on here i am somewhere around 5 to 6 thousand dollar range on mods
if all he's got is hypertech on that showboat his max is 128 and he still has all of his TQ management.

no head work
no cam
no stall
no trans work
shorty headers on a factory system out the side
and that 6000 votech cover does not make me think he has a 5.3 under the hood.
i'll take him.
