Material wise it cost the same to make a high out put 6.0 as it does the lowly 4.8. There is no reason GM cant put the 6.0 in a regular cab, and keep it below $30,000.oo.

actually, I think that GM doesn't put the 6.0 in (many) 1500s, is becuase they need to keep the 2500s, denalis, escalades, SS, etc their "elite" cars

i agree, i don't think he's checked the sticker prices on his more cost efficient SS. it is a very nice truck, but the sticker price surely isn't low by any means. they are also growing roots to dealers lots unfortunatly. i don't see why the LQ9 and M32 aren't just a factory option though, it's just beyond rediculous.

I also think it was a bad idea to make the SS just an AWD EC. They should have made scsb models and give the option of awd. What ever happened to tha sc vette truck???

I thnk the real reason the 6.0 doesn't go into more trucks is because of the average vehicle mileage requirements by the government.

according to the sticker numbers, the LQ9 trucks are about the same for fuel milage as the LM7...

I think they just need to get it over and make a scsb 6.0 and even if it was priced at 30k it would sell cause the L is 33,000 roughly(sticker)so chevy needs to get on the bandwagon here. Maybe they will realize sooner or later-but hopefully sooner.
