Personally, I've been getting upper/mid-teens in the city and low/mid-twenties on the highway with my 05 iron block 5.3L ECSB Silverado. I think a bunch of it are my 3.23 gears and stock 245/70R17 tires. I asked Wheatley to put a mind toward fuel economy for my 87 octane tune, plus I have opened up the intake tract quite a bit and changed the muffler to a cheap bullet then exiting in front of the rear tire. The biggest factor has been my right foot. Driving a consistant 55-65mph I have seen over 23mpg according to the DIC. Light footing it around town I'm seeing over 16mpg regularly.

I wish I could learn more about DFCO. Wheatley said he made some changes to it in my program, but I can't figure out when it kicks in.

Drop your truck too, that really boosted my fuel economy by 2 ~ 3 mpg.

trigger happy on protecting ole "W" huh?

They (gov) don't have much to do with it IMO, they could probably do more to relieve the pain, but they are involved just as much as they are with subprime crisis, and so on and so on. They probably could have taken seriously the need to relieve ourselves of foreign oil back in the 70's, but here we are now, caught up yet again in another greed scenario and wondering why we are surprised. I don't want the solution to be "government to the rescue" but I can't help but to think the commodity market needs to be regulated. I hate saying that, I swear...I am anti government, but .
