It's funny, I drive around wondering when my blower resistor and harness is going to smoke, when my fuel pump is going to take a ****, and all of the other common failures that these trucks have. It's like it's not a matter if "if" these parts will fail, but "when". Seems like it's inevitable

To be honest though, even though these trucks have common failures, that's just the nature of the beast. All manufacturers have parts that fail, and possibly prematurely. Common failures in one part of the equation is actually a sign of good engineering IMO...just crappy parts

Well said Bill......I got lucky mine when out just last year....at 11 years and 147K miles......So I guess I can't Bitch to much!!....

...and when you can take your well over 100,000 mile, mildly modded, little 5.3'd ECSB and totally blow the doors (twice, once from a roll, and this morning from a dig) off the guy who keeps trying to whoop me with his Duramax/Allison equipped black smoker, it makes ya forget all about the little quirks.
