Im going to be painting my door handles soon and would like to know if there is a "how to" thread that will show me how to take apart the outside door handles so I can paint the base and the pull of the handle separate

The best thing you can do for yourself is buy a haynes manual or chilton. I prefer Haynes.

These books are very good for small stuff like that. Sorry, no experience on 07+ trucks!

mine is a classic so they have the handles used from 99+
I didnt think that the haynes manual would tell me how to take apart the handles. I know how to take them off

there's a good how-to on gm full size I think. Go over there and search around. It's the write-up I used when I swapped to color-matched door handles.

Oh shoot, I never even saw the classic in your sig. So you want to know how to take the "pull" out of the "bucket", not take the handle out of the door?

One side has a pin-I had to grind the top of it off to pull it out. The other side is pretty self explanatory, If I was right threre with you I could show you.
