i've never had a problem. just put a wrench on it and twist! atleast that's what i do. mine has been apart a dozen times though. still reusing the factory bolts from 2001 lol.

Start the truck up for a few min, to get some heat in the heads. Then take a long extension or punch, punch the tops of the bolts using a hammer, to shock them. Then take your time, try to bust the bolts loose. IMO you should have used oem bolts back in there.

Default got it done

got it done today worked nice i took the wheel well out and discovered a header leak i didn't even have to pull the whole exhaust . i simply unbolted the left header and turned it out a bit , enough to get my Aluminum gasket in. i used anti seize on the ARP's clicked in my 22 ft lbs and put it all back

the engine should run a bit better w/o the leak

It just happens, the very next weekend we did a set with almost 100k more miles, none broke! I just have **** poor luck.

The one next too the firewall is tough, but my 2004 5.3L truck had the rear most bolt broke when I got it, we simply unbolted the rest of the manifold, breaking two other bolts in the process, took a pair of needle nose vise grips and held a nut centered up with the hole ( mine was broke below flush with the manifold surface ) fill the hole and nut with a nice steady weld and allow it to cool, they backed right out! The weld does not hurt the head unless you just get stupid with it, this even worked on the back driver side bolt!
