2000 4x4. EXT cab 1500
Stock trans died at 217xxx miles.
Original engine (stock except cold air int) has 225k now.

I abuse it, don't change the oil very often and bounce it of the rev limiter frequently.

Worry about the tranny more than the motor. Mine was $2900.00 fully rebuilt, installed with a 3 year, 50k warr.

When the motor goes it gets a 6.2 in it.
For what its worth, I bought the truck with 96k on it 4 years ago.

In my part of the world you can find 50-60k 5.3 motors for like 750-800 bucks. Usually like 1200 bucks installed out the door.

Can't be that.

Default 02 1500 Chevy

I just picked up a 02 green Silverado with 34,000 miles on it. First owner loved it and only used it as a show truck for his Harley. Inside and out looks and drives smoother than a 2019 on the lot! Was hoping to give it and it to give me a long life! I didn't know but it has all the bells and whistles too.

All orginal. Chevy dealer just did a full super tune and replaced all hoses and clamps . Did not buy from a dealer fyi. Just natural garage dust inside.

Default it keeps going and going...

My 2000 has 455,000miles plus. I did replace rod bearings and rings, gaskets just under 400,000 miles Love it, take care of it, and it will reward you for a LONG time.

Default Wow Mike!!

That's awesome that many miles, the 76 yr old I got this from his daughter, he passed in 16 loved this truck. Its emacualte inside and out. I love Chevy exp these older ones, still has that classic look to em. Only ever been wrenched on by a certified Chevy mechanic at the dealership. All the recalls were replaced and sticker put under the hood for each. I've only had it for a week now and wow. Got 2015 Tahoe rims and rubber. Makes a smooth sharp ride.

Default Ya 2012 lol

I know, it's what pulled up when I typed in 02 Silverado 1500s, thanks for responding. I signed up and probably get involved in some other threads. I plan on starting a project car maybe next month for something fun. Try doing a junkyard rat rod or something and stick it on my Mazda frame or I may look for something striped already. Haven't done a build in 9 yrs or so. Me and my dad used to do 57 to 66s Chevys nova and pickups. Fix em ride em and than sell em.

I have a 2001 Silverado with 5.3 and it has 324,000 Miles on it. I have never had to do any Motor Work to it at all! Coil maybe Spark Plugs every 100,000 Miles. I have done other work to it but never Motor Related. Keep that Oil Changed every 4,000 Miles and use NAPA Gold Filters. Keep on Truckin.
