How do these damn heater hose fittings come off?

You could do it but not for sure if the hoses will stay in place once the everything get up to operating temperature. If you look closely you will notice the heater core does not have a barb end, so the hose could slide right off.

Was noticing no barb myself, but thought I could clamp behind the little ridge in the pipe that the Q.C. seats onto. Wadayathink ?

I think (or rather know) that it is possible... I've done it like that with success, your success may vary, but it is possible to make it hold for a long period of time with just a hose clamp

Tanx for the info. Gents !! Just now I bypassed the core to get running. Need to hurry up and get safety insp., and current tags before the over aggressive Arnold City boyz with the pretty red and blue lights gives me one of those cute little orange stickers !!

they alway do that when i worked @ the dealer ship it happen a lot i think it was the white one they broke all the time.watch cause they may tell u that u have to get the hoses with it and check cause i know it don't make sence but it may be cheaper to get all of it not just the connectors.


SH#T JUST BY PASS ALL THAT FOR NOW IT IS HOT OUT SIDE ANYWAYS

Careful with a hacksaw blade, came right off. stk. 5/8 hose to small to go over the ridge in the heater core pipes.
(2) 5/8 x 3/4 hose barb nipples, (6) clamps, and 2ft. of 3/4 hose. no problems, $10 or less did both sides.
