hot headers

Default hot headers

ive got the ceramic coated headers n i think they are starting to go bad the headers are starting to burn my wires ive replaced 3 or 4 wires in 2 months i have heat boots on 6 wires except the front wires an rear wires.ive been told to try hear wrap

do ceramic headers go bad ???

In my experience the ceramic coating doesn't last forever , especially in salty climates like where we live.

I don't recommend heat wrap , your headers will rot ( unless they are stainless)

Just get some good heat sleeving and maybe add a bracket to keep your wires away from your headers .

i dnot think its the wires some one told me a bad injector could through a miss fire

i have multiple random miss fires ans a o 2 code what the ****

I had the same problem, I would get some sleeves like TIMZ said,

with my random misfire I think it was jumping spark to the headers you could hear it when you listened under the hood, I would also check to see if a plug is cracked.



did you just install the headers and have these problems

no i ve had the headers for like 3 yrs all of a sudden im getting burned wires

today i replace all of the plugs n 4 on one side were all fouled at the tip im thinking im damaging the wires when i pull them offnow im getting a o2 sensor code and still more random missfires

im thinking about replacing all 8 wires with fresh ones
other than that i COULD be COIL PACS

its fixed i repplaced oone o2 sensor n drove it for a while an d the engine light went off i m so fuggin happy
