All of that depends on the individual agency and the crime. State Troopers are going to chase you if you run. Thats what they do.

The first time they spun him out he almost hit the wall but it looked like he saved it. Not to sound like i know what i am talking about or go against DemonSilverado but the guy seemed to know what he was doing. Iv never seen anything like that before! All the idiots that run from the cops end up running in to something by them selfs. And DeamonSilverado is right, the jakass could have killed/hurt alot of people.

i was kidding around, if i was a cop i would have done the take your *** off the road style hit first try and not even care about his life. ive just never seen anyone pull that off in my life. its crazy to watch him just not give up. but i mean once you run its not like your just gonna give up and pull over.. good job on catching him luckily he wasnt in a faster or bigger car that could have done some major damage. i know it seems like were rooting for the bad guy but most of areant cops and sometimes we are the bad guys....but glad no one got hurt and we can luagh about it now.

We all talked for a long time afterwords. I dont think any of us had ever seen a TVI that was applied correctly and successfully fail to work.

I'm sure all of you have fistailed in the rain, and used counter-steer to recover. Same principle here, except you just hold it, make one spin, apply the brakes and straighten her out. Impossible on a two lane road, because you'll be off the road and then your boned. However, on a large highway if you have all that room its conceiveable to escape one. Three in a row is crazy.

But, hey, he's in jail, and no one's hurt. Success.

You need to offer him a real job i know hes a criminal now but come on i dont know very many people that could've recovered that many times in a row. I say make him serve as an aggressive driver instructor instead of jail time!!!!!

Do you ever wonder how many peoples lives that you state policeman indangered by not just letting him run out of gas or something!!! I would say doing a TVI at that high of speed cant be any safer than that moron drving fast a well!! If catching up to him was that easy for you then you guys shouldve trailed him until he either stopped or ran out of gas. But i def. dont think that spinning him out in the middle of the highway was very smart but thats just MY opinion. I mean what if he wasnt that great of a driver and instead of straightening out his tires gripped while he was sideways and caused him to flip and barrel roll into oncoming traffic.Sounds to me you guys put more lives in danger with the stunts pulled to try and stop him

So what are they supposed to do, just let him go and permit him to continue weaving around other cars at 2x the speed limit or more. It seems to me that the section of road where they did it was vacant enough that they saw an opportunity to take a reckless freak off the road.

Blackerado, The police risked a lot less lives by taking him out when they did. What if he got off the highway and started running on city streets? What if he plowed through a school district and took out some kids? It's always safer to take him out on a controlled environment where no one can get hurt but the bad guy. Obviously, the cops had the highway blocked off because I saw no other cars.

DemonSilverado: Why don't the police ever try to get in front of the guy? For fear he might try to side swipe you?
I always wondered why 3 of you don't just box him in...then slow down...too unpredictable??

Not to be antipolice, but the police who go after a CAR in a high speed chase are ******* morons. Why put your life at risk for a CAR? Or that of countless average peeps on the streets.
