Just make sure you plug the stock plug in to the ballast backward cuz the polarity is reverse on these trucks.
I've seen that in person. Guy was about to let the cheese slide off his cracker until I suggested he flip the connector around. Then we repinned it right so there wouldn't be any confusion later on.

I bought my 55 watt 6000k HIDs from them probably 2 1/2 years ago. I put them on both the high and lows on my 95 and made my own relay harness thats integrated into a second stock style fuse block. It turned out great and I've never had any power up issues. Some HIDs like to not light off with automatic headlights but mine doesn't have that feature being a 95. I don't have a lot of hours on mine but so far they have worked great. With all four on I swear it lights up the road, the ditches, and even off in the fields for what looks like a mile. It must be like flash burn for any deer stupid enough to look into my headlights.

I'm not seeing how conventional theory trumps reality, lol. The only time a relay kit is really needed is when the ground side has a poor conductor on the stock harness. With the more sensitive nature of ballasts and the lower possible power draw, the poor ground will become more evident.

PS: Even DDM ballasts only take 5 amps to start, as well. Unlike ballasts from the early 2000's that could gobble 20amps on startup, even cheap Chinese ballasts nowadays hardly take much power.
Good to know. It was only $15, so I thought better to be safe than sorry.

Yes, the stock bulbs are 55W I believe. My Silverstar Ultras are 65W. The stock wiring will have no issue with 35W HID's. They do draw more power when warming up, but not enough to fry wiring.

Ordered the kit up...35w, 6000K. I had some dece halogens in there with the stock housings and a few years ago I switched up to some projector headlights. I never drove my truck in the city, always on country roads, so I always had hi beams (and 4hi mod once I found out about it) so until last fall I never really saw how poopy the low beams were. I guess this'll brighten it up some. Thanks for all the input!

How does the color match of those 2? I was thinking of doing the same in my lows/fogs. The fogs won't take the 55w bulbs but I want to make sure that the color of them matches pretty well and I know the higher watt bulbs tend to wash out some of the color.

I have the DDM hid's and I just ordered the relay harness because mine have always flickered at first startup. The shipping was more than the harness, i'd play it safe and pick one up the first go around.

Question Cutoff Questions

Can anyone that uses these comment as to the optics of these and the light output distribution? Actual cutoff? To be clear, state what headlight housing you're using them in, ie. Stock (make/model), stock retro (with make/model of projector retro), aftermarket.

I'm running TYC projector aftermarket headlight assemblies, any one else with these and the DDM HID's?

I'm running stock housings and it is fine, just have to adjust your headlights properly so you don't blind people. The stock housings do create a pretty good cutoff line at the top, but not as good as projectors you see in factory HID cars. Much improved lighting over stock and that's all I was going for.

The 55w kits wash some of the light output so it makes the 6k look similar to the 5k. I wouldn't put hids in the fogs. My housings started to discolor and melt after the first month. I upgreaded to a 5k led bulb. Brighter than the hids were IMO
