A mail order tune from one of our sponsers will be alot better than the jet stage two. custom tuning > handheld or chip

I have had good luck with Nelson performance but I hear the other sponsers are good too. We had a poll here a while back and most people prefer the nelson tune.

I've been very happy with my PCMforLess custom tune that I've had for a few years now...glad to see that they're finally a sponsor here. Customer service has been excellent and the performance increase is definitely SOTP noticeable. Nelson is definitely a favorite here, haven't read much if any negative feedback about his work. I have the Nelson efan harness and the quality is top notch, as well as the customer service and quick turn around time I received on my order.

I've read some negative feedback in reference to the Vararam intake, as far as build quality and fitment issues. Personally, I'd recommend either a K&N, Volant (I've had both with no complaints), or a home-made set-up. Alot of guys have made home made units with great results

I'd also recommend a cam swap, and possibly a higher stall torque conververter depending on how big you go on the cam. If you go with a small cam profile like mine, a new verter won't be necessary.

All of your other plans sound really good

The vararam intake works good, but they are crap. They don't tell you that the performance guarantee is only good for 30 days either.

I too have pcmforless but as a mail order I think if you go with the lowest priced mail order tune from our sponsors you'll be fine.
