Default Hey guys few questions on purchase

Hey guys I am some what new to this forum having owned a s10 awhile back and never posting. Im now looking into purchasing a 99+ 5.3 single cab short bed and I am having a hell of a time finding one. Looked at one today a grey 2001 however it had 173k on the clock. I am new to silverados but has a little experience with LS based engines. I was wondering if anyone could be help with what to look out for, pricing etc. I can wait to jump into one and start modding!

if it runs smooth i wouldn't worry too much about the mileage, with good maintenance LS engines will last a long time. pay more attention to how the tranny acts as they're a far more common failure. even if the transmission does go out they're actually pretty reasonable to fix compared to many other modern trucks. wear parts in the steering, suspension, brakes etc are all relatively cheap and easy to replace so assuming the truck has decent maintenance records and doesn't seem to be have had too rough of a life i'd say go for it assuming it's a fair price of course.

Yeah these baby's with proper maintainance will go 250+ , miles are nothing, replacement low mile drivetrains are cheap and it's too easy to make stupid power with these LS trucks.

I would find one with a solid body, that s the hardest part , the rest isn't a biggie.
