The more I think about this (no, I'm not going to go off again), the more I think my Ram is at the disadvantage even though the Hemi is suppose to have more power, 285 hp to 345 hp. What's the old saying , weight kills and for every 100 lbs lost or gained, it'll make a .1 second difference? Let's say if my new Ram was set up exactly like my old Silverado and ran a similar best time of 14.76 in the 1/4. Now add the 400 lbs it out weighs the my Silverado in reality, that 14.76 now becomes a 15.16 if 400 lbs equals .4 seconds and that 345 hp just became 305 hp. Now change the tires from the 30" tall tires that were on my Silverado to the 33" tall tires that are on my Ram plus the weight of the 20's. I know that when I went from 30" tall tires to 31.6" tires on my Silverado, I got slower by .5 seconds 0-60 although I never ran at the track with the taller tires. So how much would a 3" taller tire make? Lets keep it at .5 seconds, now that 15.16 turns into 15.66 seconds. I know gearing and trannies are different but I'm, just looking at it from a tire and weight disadvantage. This is why I see the Ram even with the Hemi is at the disadvantage. Does this make sense?

Yes ... it does .. but it's still the Dodge truck. The whole grudge thing is truck against truck. Not so much engine vs. engine.

Tell me the Dodge boys aren't rubbing off on ya!

Nothing personal .. just ribbing ya a little.

Actually, there not rubbing off on me, I've got my shielding up . I still post more here than on all the Dodge sites combined, I still feel like this is home. I realize the brand wars will go on for ever, and when one brand takes notice of another, it's kind of a backwards form of flattery, I think . I'm not really taking sides even though I do drive a Dodge now, I loved my Silverado, but it was time to move on and experience something different. So far, it's all good .

Jim, in all honesty, you have opened my eyes to the HEMI, i'm actually giving it a chance now... whereas before i would just shrug it off... if i ever needed another truck i would definetly go to the dodge dealership to check out one, but i would never sell my chevy, i would keep this baby until it died on me....

After having to deal with my dad's Dodge, and trying to get it serviced, I will NEVER own a Dodge. The truck itself isn't that bad. I took it in for some problems, the 1st dealership I took it to talked to me like I was a moron, and insulted anything I said. The 2nd dealership gave the same general attidude, but they took the time to actually write my name down and schedule me in thier busy appointment book.

The firs one didn't even get up from his desk to greet me. I was when I left there.

There are *** hole dealerships for every make, heck, we have dodge, ford, and chevy dealerships here in town that are all jerks. I also think that dodges build quality has improved alot in the past couple years since the merger w/ daimler. Im part german so i dont mind if the truck has some in it too.

So, if some one disrespected you, you would just let it go?
