I think the new Dodges LOOK great, but damn they are TURDs. I've raced a few in my lifted *** GMC and put the hurt on their "Hemi". At the track, they seem to run about a half second slower than a stock 5.3L with similar weight. That sucks

ok here is my take. a 03 hemi has stock at the crank 345 hp. a stock 4.8 has 275? now with an exhaust, intake, pulleys and some other stuff, the 4.8 imo still shouldn't come up to what a stock hemi should have at the wheelsin hp terms. and when the 4.8 wins, all they can say is a modded truck will win against a stock one. come on.

The problem with the Hemi's is that they are not putting anywhere near that 345hp to the ground. I'm not sure where the power is going, whether it's drivetrain loss or computer, or maybe both. Their own dyno charts show around a 30% loss in power between the claimed power and what's being put to the ground so who knows.

If they get the loss minimized, and the aftermarket catches up, they could be serious contenders. I don't think I have ever heard of a hemi turning better than 14's on motor.

I just read that thread.
HAHAHAHHA
That has to be the funniest **** I've read. 40-60 RWHP from a Hypertech? You gotta be shittin' me. I WISH I got that from the Hypertech because you don't even get that from Wester's...
The best part is when they talk **** about my front end...haha...if anything that big *** bumper I have causes drag so I should've been faster with the Sierra clip on it.
All in all who gives a **** what they say? The proof is on the video....
EXCUSES EXCUSES EXCUSES!!! reminds me of ricers

The Dodges are the ones with the BIG A$$ front ends.

Oh well, I really don't care whos faster stock because I haven't left any vehicle I've ever owned stock for long.

These type of arguments are so pointless and probably take a few years off certain peoples life when they get all fired up.

Yeah stock sucks. If I rolled a Hemi first thing it'd get would be a TransGo shift kit, stall, and a tune.

I think Dynatech makes long tubes for them, prolly some intake like a K&N FIPK out, ported TB, pulley sets.

These will get fast but stock they are just not quick by any means.

Here we go again, Everybody gets so worked so easily. True the dodge advertises 345HP but yes there is significant Loss of power to the wheels. I own a Hemi and have been reading so much as to when and how we will get the restrictions bypassed. DC has our engines cut back so bad it is pathetic. No these is not excuses. It is the facts. I bought my Hemi for my wife, it is our family truck, I did not buy it to race or say it is the fastest in the world. but If ya'll are gonna go to the dodge site, read a little and you will see that the PCM,TCM. Are choking the truck back. DC is so afraid of ripping trannies out, The only sad part is we are like part of the dodge R&D team. That is what sucks. but for what I need my truck for It works just fine.
