Help needed in my new project 1000HP c10
Hello,
I have a 1984 C10 and I want to build at lest 1000 rwhp and I want some advice. Firstly, the engine I think I will go with iron 408. I contact with TSP and they send me this quote
Total: $ 12,267.83
what do you think ??
another friend told me to go with Thompson Motorsports
I will use procharger F-1A and nitrous
and about the procharger should I go with Gear Drive system or cog race ???
and my last question about trans, I will go with TH400 what do you think ?? my friend advice me to go with jakesperformance (Stage 4 TH400-Reverse Pattern with transbrake $3500) or atfspeed Stage 4 TH400 ($2,850.00)
Please help me reach my goal

A smaller less expensive engine will get you to 1,000hp if you want it too. A 408 surely isn't a must do thing to reach your goal.
Hell even like a 376 that's built or even something slightly larger can get to 1000hp with easy nowadays.
The parts list above is a good one but some of the things are just added costs and to some are just there to make your wallet lighter. A $2,500 set of custom ported cylinder heads is way overkill if you ask me. A set of regular LS3 heads with some mild port work can make 1,000hp.
I think the boost king 3 engine with cylinder heads from thompson is under $9,000. There is a ton of ways to skin a cat and surely you'll be weighting your options.

I wouldn't say advice, I was more so just saying there are other options out there that will get you to your goal. The TMS engine package is surely cheaper than the total from above. After the intake manifold and throttle body it'll be more but still far less than $12,200.
For some it's looks on intake but a stock car/truck intake will do 1000hp.
