Default Help Help Help Asap Need To Know Tonight!!!

Did a coolant flush on the truck tonight, removed the bottom hose from the radiator(didnt want to use to petcock it was stuck and didnt want to break it) and drained the water pump and radiator into the bucket. I put a hose in the radiator end of the hose going into the pump (where the t-stat is) and flushed it out. I filled the surge tank too with water and flushed that. Now its back together, and the temp goes 3/4 to almost buried on hot with the message display engine coolant hot, also no heat comes from the vents just cold air...well not ac cold but cool and the fans are blaring in the motor. the tank has the right amount of coolant too? need to know NOW!!! HELP im stranded at work!!!

Bet you got a air bubble or some trash might have gotten stuck on the Thermostat????

try to squeeze the hose alot and see if you can get any air bubbles to come out..

Default Might have to pressurize it

yourself if its air. Let it cool and somehow force water into the radiator at a low pressure to force the air pocket out and help the pump prime.

leave the cap off of the overflow tank and run the motor. Squeeze the radiator hose a few times every few seconds and you should see a bunch of bubbles come out. Make sure that both hoses get hot by the time its around 190-200 and it'll tell you if your t-stat is open or not.

Thats my thought also, cuz obviously if the hose from the t-stat is cold...then its holding up the coolant...im calling the gm dealer in the am saying "wtf my trucks running wayyy hot whats wrong i need it towed" ive only got 22k so im under warranty, maybe a new 160 tstat or somethingggg
