Hmmm might electricute myself, oh welp, I almost intalled the sub by myself. I'll have a review up tomo if I get it working.

 

You can use a tap splice connector, they have worked well for me.

 

You could also probably tap into any of the speaker wires on the radio harness, cause they should only be hot when the radio is on.

 

I just pulled the fuse for the accessories (look in the owners manual). Then stuck the fuse and the wire in at the same time. Not the cleanest setup I'll admit, but easy. Make sure you put it on the side that will get protection from the fuse!

 

pull out the ign fuse, wrap the wire around one of the posts of the fuse (dosent matter which post) then put the fuse back in. turn on the radio and boogy

 

Awww come on guys....is it worth the ghetto-rig to save $3 on a 20 pack of connectors???

 

More like is it worth losing your truck over, when the wires short and cause a fire. Just cause your wrapping it around the fuse, doesn't mean there won't be a chance of it shorting on something. I've seen things like this before and have the scars from careless wiring. Do it right the first time and don't take the chance.

 

It won't work if you splice it into the speaker wires. If you don't have it working yet e-mail or pm me. I used to install for a living. Just dont remember the wire colors right now, but I'll check on my truck. I still have the factory head unit with an amp.

 

running the remote wire to the ign fuse wont hurt anything. thats why theres fuses on the amp and on the power + wire to the amp.

 

Running to the fuse box wont hunt anything, but doing it behind the h/u makes for a cleaner install. Just make sure the fuse is only on with the ign.
