Heater sticks on hot side.
#1
Hey all, I have a 2000 Chevy Silverado with a 4.8L. I have a problem with the heater sticky/staying on the hot side. When I start the truck up and it's on the cold side it is fine; but when I move it ever so little towards the hot side it goes hot and stays that way until I shut the truck off for 10 minutes or so. Any advice guys? Thank's in advance.

This is obviously becoming a more widely experianced problem. Maybe we should have a Sticky Thread about this. Usually the problem lies within the HVAC Actuators. They control the movement of the Blend Door, Temp Door, Mode Door and the Air Inlet Doors attached to the heater box which is under/inside the Dash Panel on the passenger side. Sometimes an AC Control Head will *** out and cause these symptoms to arise but it's 90% of the time the Actuators. There si no easy diagnosis for this as you have to test the workings of the actuator in question and see if it's actually actuating allthe way open of closed. Sometimes a simple Re-Park procedure can be done and fis the problem, but I do sell quite alot of these Actuators.
