Well all I have to say is I hate my truck now. My truck was running **** **** on the low end and I thought I blew the motor. I didnt spray out of the hole and that hurt me. Being my first time on the track I was nervous as all be. I didnt have the nitrous turned on until i was at 3400 rpm. So I switched it on and she began to scream. Then I see smoke blowing out the back of the truck and then the truck starts to bog down. I said fuc&* it and kept it floored and switched off the nitrous. I then came to the slip booth and picked up my slip. A frickin 14.6 time with a 2.3277 60 ft time. I wont even mention my reaction time. So I went on to my pit area and thought if I did blow the motor it sure runs damn smooth. I also noticed that it ran better after I switched off the nitrous down the track. Well, I got to the pit and smoke was coming out everywhere. I opened the hood and coolant was everywhere. I freaked at this point. I thought ****, I am 80 miles from home with a screwed up truck. I traced the problem down to a blown heater hose coupler. I bypassed the heater hose and filled it back with water. Then then limped her back home. I not only have the slowest truck on this planet but the biggest POS. I think it is time to rethink what I am doing to this truck and keep it as a pull rig for the dirt car. Not a good first go around at the track for me. I guess Illnalli was close. I give and I think I will stick to the only racing I know because I proved I dont know a damn thing about drag racing.

damn that sux dood!! its weird, sometimes I see people mod their trucks with good luck and others dont have any luck. I know my truck isnt a speed demon, but I hope Im not disappointed at the track after a run or two when I get a few mods done.

It just takes time to get use to it. It will get better, yes go all motor, build a 422 or a 408 with a 10-1 compression with a big cam and let her fly. see what you can get out of it.
