Headers for a 4.3L V6
#11
Sorry, I don't remember how much the TES cost, it's been too long (I'm guessing about $325). One thing I would suggest is that you get the coated headers, I didn't do that. I sandblasted the headers and added hi-temp paint but it was starting to break down after 5 years. Do yourself a favor and get a get of Stage 8 locking bolts so that you don't have to worry about retorquing periodically.

The biggest hp gains you would see would come from 1.6 rockers, underdrive pully, and removing the restrictor on the TB. All this would cost less than shortys and give much better gains IMO. I wish i was back home, cuz i have a Jet Stage 2 Chip for your truck sitting around that adds some good power too. It costed me like $320, but id let it go for much less since ill never have any use for it again.

Its built into the MAF.
So you removed the half moon thing on the TB blade? When i've done this to all my 4.3s i could tell a huge difference, especialy at part throttle it was way more responsive. Did you check out sshotrods.com? They have alot of little free mods and such listed that may help you out.

Cool. I wasn't driving. I'm actually GMC Projects mechanic. It felt a little more responsive. Guess I'll have to drive it to really tell. LOL. Reason I was asking about the IAT sensor is because I was going to put a resistor in it to trick the computer into thinking it was colder out so it would advance the timing. Oh well. Thanks for the website. I was thinking bout getting a throttle body from a junkyard and porting it and see what that gets. He doesn't know what he wants to do with his truck yet (V8 swap, mod the current engine, keep it the way it is and by an old beater to mess with). Thanks for the help.
