Well i was at college and i didnt have a chance the call the dealer so i told my mom to tell them they didnt get the steering wheel straight and to set up for me to come in.
They tell her thats impossible and i must have screwed it up
I've done a few steering shafts in my day and i know for a fact its kinda a pain to get the wheel staight again.
So today im going in to get it fixed and my aligment done also!

TO make a long story short ill try.
i go in.. 30 mins later they are like did u hit a ditch or something im like no but around 4,000 miles i hit a big concrete block in the road bent th lip on 2 wheels.
So back to today, After i told him what was going on they wanna say well we think you bent something..
So then im like well what did i bend?
They respond with well we dont know
so i say how do you know something is bent then?
No answer from them.
So i just tell them ill pay for the alignment and we'll see what happens.
i never had any problems with anything until i went in and got the steering shaft replaced.
No pulling and wheel was straight.
Now i did crank the bars up but wheels was off before that and the sheet they gave me said the TOE was out and they fixed it and aligned it.
But on the ******* print out says....
"Gearbox may have twisted shaft- Wouls not be covered under warrenty if have problem later"
WTF you dont know what the problem is but hey if this part goes bad for any reason its your!! fault! BS!!!!
they dont know if it is but already dont wanna warrenty it!

My truck is an '04 and i'm also having trouble with the steering wheel shaft. I took it to the dealer and they said there was going to be a recall to replace it. They told me that they had "run out" of the part, so they just lubbed it up...its been three weeks and the popping sound is back every time I turn
...They said that for some reason 03's and 04's came out with that problem, but they fixed it in the 05's...I'll be taking mine to the dealer's this weekend, hopefully they don't mess up the steering wheel alignment
...i dont like taking it to the dealers cause they always leave grease stains on my carpet, seat, and steering wheel

How off is the steering wheel?? Could be that they got the wrong shaft in there. Its happened to me a time or two. Parts man just looked up the wrong one. It was off maybe a 1/4 turn or so.

Well, had mine done yesterday. Dealership took really good care of me, cause I wasn't able to get the truck to them until about 4:45 yesterday afternoon, and I had only talked to them via the internet service tech messenger. But they had me out and on my way by 5:30. My steering wheel had always pulled a little to the drivers side since the day I had it. But now, funny thing is, its straight as a bone. They actually had to replace my intermediate shaft, and my upper shaft due to excesseive wear. Ahhhhhh, but it is so nice not to hear and feel that damn popping/clunking noise anymore.
