Default got a quick ?

my dad has a 04 GMC 2500HD 6.0 80E.
he is gone this week in my brothers truck.
could i take his cluster out and put it in my '00 silverado?
his has a Trans Temp Gauge and i want to see what my trans temp is in town.
just wondering?
what are '03+ clusters goin for these days?
i would love to have a 120 speedo and a trans temp guage stock.

I don't think that the 03 and up cluster will work in a 99-02
