My guess is he probably had a chip/programmer on it. The powerstroke is probably good for mid to low 80 mph in the quarter and I would imagine your truck is higher than that with the mods you have listed.

I think your problem was the 285s (much heavier then stockers). I'd bet he's stock and had the stock sized tires which help a great deal, the powerstroke really pulls hard from a roll where others struggle. I can almost bet he was stock as my friends 03 Powerstroke (6.0L torque shift) with 35"s and toolbox full of tools could pull away from my truck with the Predator 93 tune(5.3 and 3.42s).

yeah i will agree with montecarlo that i think the powerstroke was stock. i ran one of my co workers yesterday and he has a 2006 5.3 ext cab 2wd and i left him like he was sitting still.

So a stock PS would beat a SSS with a tune and CIA ?

the ss with a tune would take a stock PS. It wouldn't leave it but would be a truck or two ahead. I would not race my tunned powerstroke with my ss from 0-30 and i have a 408 in my ss.

What I have is basically a tuned SS with catback and CIA,the tire weight of my 285 are going to effect me dam near the same as the SS 80Lb tire/wheel.I might be 100-200 heavier with the xcab.

I dont know man they are not THAT fast....

When I had my old 99 it was running high 15's(before TC) and I was dead even with my Dads 04 PS 6.0 with a small Edge(65hp), AEM Intake and 5" exhaust from a 20 roll. From a dig he would jump out hard on me and I was about a length back to 90.

Since then diesel tuners have made a lot of advances and the trucks have a little more power too. The Cummins having like 300/600 or 350/600(?), the DMax having 360/650(lbz), and the PS having whatever was stated above.

Unless your truck is just F'n slow, there is no way a stock PS, or any STOCK Diesel will pull from a V-Max with mods. Im sure that guy had Intake, Exhaust, and a Big chip. That would put him in the low 14's. ...well actually IDK....I just remembered when I was out at the track, there was a guy with an 06 Cummins and he ran a 14.5 with just a Bully Dog tuner, nothing else and it had dealer plates on it still.
