Default Good Bed Cover that will also help out on Gas Milage

Well I am on to my first mod for getting better Gas Milage. My wife said she is getting me a Bed Cover for my truck for Fathers Day & to start looking. I have a $300 budget.

I have heard rumors of the bed covers actually helping out on Gas Milage & if this can help. I want to get the one that is proven to help with better gas Milage.

Does anyone have any info on what bed cover that is good quality & will help on the gas Milage & will stand against the weather well & keep thing dry. I also want a Cover that I can take off quickly & easy.

Bed Cover will not help... Maybe if you go 80MPH+

The gains will not be noticeable...

If you want to gain gas mileage, read into getting a Custom Tune...

I think you can actually get better mileage with your bed open and tailgate up...

i think its due to the weight of cover they used. if you found a lower profile cover thats was lightweight or aluminum. i think it would help.

I have a snap type tonneau cover on my truck, and its upped mileage by about 1 MPG. I drive 25 miles each way to work, all interstate @ 70-75 MPH. I know the number may not me precise, but my average MPG jumped from 14.8-15.8 and is solid as stone @ that number now. I'm sold. I usually get 380-410 out of a tank. Its all about maintaining speed. And keeping your foot out of it. Thats in the summer time as well and from chock full to dead empty.

This is what I will be getting soon. I have been able to find them between $330 and $350. They are preassembled and clamp to the front of the bed, so they are easily removed.

Extang Trifecta

Just noticed Auto Anything (sponsor ) has a sweet deal on them right now.

If you are looking for a lightweight very user friendly soft (vinyl) bed cover, then I would look at a Extang Fulltilt cover. You can remove it by yourself in one piece in like 10 seconds. If you shop around you can find one for about $320.00. I have on on my SSS and would not have any other kind. Yes it did help alittle bit w/ milage but it is hard to say off the gas in that thing anyways.
