Good ac compressor brand

A new AC delco unit would be ideal if you ask me.
But I haven't had an issue with the few NAPA ac compressors I've installed. More often than not they are rebuilt factory compressors.

I've installed more 4 Seasons and Evercool over the years than I can count. As well as various OEM brands, parts store brands, and no-names. Can't say I've had consistently "perfect" results, or "bad" either, with any of em. Details in the installation - flushing the system clean, putting the right kind & amount of oil back in, etc. - seem to me to make more difference than the name on the box.

I bought the DENSO compressor for my build two years ago and it's been trouble free. I found Rock Auto the best place for a/c compressors. I've bought some of the cheaper units like GPD for other vehicles with no issues. I've bought brand new AC Delco units that didn't last a season. They have a bad rep of leaking oil around the housing, hence the nickname "bellyleaker". If you're doing this yourself be aware the 1lb freon cans have been redesigned with a small rubber seal to keep the freon from escaping. The old freon can taps will not work with the new designed cans. You'll need the updated can tap for your gauge set.

I've put Delphis on my 96 Express, 96 and 97 K1500's, no issues at all. Oldest one was installed about 5 years ago. Indeed, to the best of my recollection, everything Delphi has worked perfect for me so far. My biggest complaint is their fuel pumps are so quiet I can't tell if they are running or not...........

I've used all brands on every type of vehicle out there. One thing I did stop doing was using reman units on older vehicles. Just make sure you flush your system out good and get a good vacuum on it.

I used a Delphi compressor, AC Delco orifice tube and receiver/drier/accumulator the last time I serviced mine. If you are concerned with maintaining the compressor warranty you need to replace the following items:
A/C Orifice Tube (or A/C Expansion Valve), A/C Receiver Drier/Accumulator, and A/C System Flush or a Work Order showing the purchase of these items and that the system was flushed.
Replacing the condenser is totally up to you/your budget.
