to add to vanilla's request, is there a long block available either LQ4 or LQ9? not the complete engine 12499467. also are these complete engines long blocks 89017356, 12457706, 89017357?

will be on this tomorrow morning.....but have to tell you this. GM doesnt offer short blocks. Its long block or nothing....BUT, they did just release a few new part numbers for the 4.8, 5.3, and lq4&9. Remanufactured crate long blocks. Tons of new. I will post the bulletin tomorrow....peace.

GM Parts is pleased to announce the release of remanufactured GEN III V8 engines to our portfolio of engines. The remanufactured GEN III engine families include the 2001 - 2004 4.8L (RPO LR4), 2001 - 2004 5.3L (RPO L59, LM7) and two versions of the 2002 - 2005 6.0L (RPO LQ4, LQ9). These engines are remanufactured to meet and / or exceed OEM specifications for fit, durability and reliability, and include the following components:
Remanufactured Engine Block Assembly -- All cylinders bored oversized 0.5 mm and honed to match the piston ring set. Cylinder head deck milled as required. Crankshaft bore align bored. Each block has been verified to be free of stress and cracks.
Remanufactured Crankshaft -- Checked and verified for straightness. All journals ground 0.25 mm undersize protecting undercut and rolled fillets for maximum strength - journals and seal surface micro-polished. Piston rods are powdered metal steel.
Remanufactured Cylinder Head Castings -- Checked and verified to be free of warpage and cracks. Cylinder head deck milled. Valve seats standard or reamed oversize 0.371 mm as required. Valves are new with oversize stems.
Camshafts are reclaimed or new roller type. New cam bearings installed and reamed to OEM specifications. All journals and lobes are micro-polished. Lifters are new, hydraulic roller type.
The following parts are all NEW for each of these engines:
Alloyed Steel Intake and Stainless Steel Exhaust Valves
Hydraulic Roller Lifters
Single Row Roller Chain
Cast Aluminum 0.5mm Oversize Pistons with Coated Skirts.
Premium Piston Rings
High Volume Gerotor Oil Pump Assembly
Each engine comes dressed and ready to install with a cast aluminum oil pan assembly, cast aluminum valve covers, crankshaft balancer, crankshaft rear oil seal housing and lifter valley cover installed. These engines are emissions certified (OBD III) for direct OEM replacement in all 50 U.S. states.


Here's the part numbers -

12491851 - 4.8 LR4
12491854 - 5.3 LM7/L59
12491357 - 6.0 LQ4
12491860 - 6.0 LQ9

There is a core on these engines, about 250 bucks.

those bishes is high

checked sdpc and both the 4.8 and 5.3 are $3462 and the 6.0's are $3714. hell the new GM LQ9 crate that is pretty much turn-key is only $3699.

You might try checking your local dealer to see what they can do for ya man....sometimes big stuff you can get under wholesale...I've done it before....
