275/60/16 old toyo st. love them, don't know how the new version are. i'd get the 275/60/16 toyo st2.

 

That's a good price. I was really interested when I read your post, til i saw someone say they sucked after 1/2 wear in rain. I'm leaning toward buying some Goodyr T.T. Good in wet or dry. I have yet to pull the trigger on some. I've also lookin @ Avon.

What would u descibe a drag radial as? I'd say that's a sticky street tire. Or track, as the case may be...

I hear that. I wanna go w/ the widest 16" that'll fit stock wheelwells. Stay near 30.6" stock height & have attributes I want.
John, it sucks when I would like to go to a 17" or 18", but can't afford. Plus, I need rims. Sounds like you'd like 17"s or 18"s too.

 

What tire would you truck/SUV folks recommend for a Yukon SLT 2WD soccer mom ride? I think the OE tires suck for hwy noise and do not want to but them again.

 

I'm satisfied with the 295/50/20 UHP's, good for the money, but not the best you can get. Nothing will get traction on the street behind a blown 6.0 unless you have AWD.

 

I am looking at a set of UHP's as well, but I have heard they wear pretty fast. What sort of mileage do yall get out of them?

Hankook Ventus RH06 in 275/55/20. It's a great tire - good wet & dry traction, very smooth, very quiet. 50K mileage warranty, V-speed rated, directional tread. M&S rated but it's a street tire so it would be suspect in deep snow and worthless in mud. They were pretty cheap - $640 out the door mounted, lifetime road-force balance, lifetime rotate, and road hazard included.

 

but they dont make that tire for a 16 inch rim

 

i had these on some 20s, didnt like them at all
