huh?
sure it is $4/gal either way but the civic will get 35mpg vs 16 or whatever for the truck.
i am not going to step down to a **** box. there are lots of nice cars that get around 30mpg. hell i almost got a c5 stick for a beater. you can get great mileage with one of those

Nope, gonna be paid off in a month or two.
Just bought a beat up 96 Cavalier.
Driving the truck I average about 1400 miles a month. That runs me about $400 at current diesel rate (summer time, winter it goes up due to worse mpg).
Driving the car if I average the same miles, it will only cost me about $180 at current 87* rate. Add in the extra $20 a month insurance cost and I'm still saving $200 a month on fuel.
Plus I get to keep from putting miles on the truck but still use it when I need it or feel like driving something nice.

I've been back and forth about this, and I'd only sell it to get a Cobra/Trans Am/GTO/etc. But, I know I'll miss being able to use the bed. It's just nice to be able to haul around stuff especially when you're charging people.
Plus... It'd be more of a loss for me as I plan to start an auto-detailing or auto-transportation business as soon as I graduate high school.

Nope, don't drive enough to justify ditching a perfectly good truck for a lesser ride. I need a truck first and foremost; have quads, haul firewood so I don't hafta dole out to the utility for heating. But I have toyed with stuffing a 5.3 in an S10 ext cab then stickin' a long bed on it. But right now I'm just gonna yank the blocks out of my rear and de- crank the torsion bars some.............
