how do you guys still get such good gas mileage with your fully bolted plus cammed trucks?

 

what is good? I get 14.5 and am happy with that

 

I get 17-17.5

Just can't be hard on the throttle. However, I THINK i've seen a tank where I was a lil over 1/2 throttle all the time up to 60 and then cruised and got better mileage. Still need to test it out on purpose tho.

 

My old truck, a 2003 GMC RCSB 4X4 5.3 with cam, 2200 Stall, 3.74 lockers, Long Tubes, Full Exhaust, 55lb. injectors, CAI, Ported TB and Nelson Performance tuned, I was only getting about 12.8 MPG. Had all kinds of power though. Fun as hell to drive, but not pratcical at all. So as times changed and my lifestyle did, I have now moved to a 2006 Silverado Crew Cab short bed 4X4 and it has a Cat Back Magnaflow exhaust, CAI and a Custome Tune only. It however gets 17 MPG around town and 19.3 MPG on the highway.

I can't complain

 

on a 400 mile journey, and i burn just over 26 gallons
