Yeah, you won't be happy with the 4.3 V-6 if you are interested in mileage. Like other people have said, 4.3's seem to get the same mileage as V-8's and sometimes they even get worse mileage! My last tank was about 80% highway and I got 22.3 MPG. My city mileage is usually around 15-17 MPG. Very happy with the mileage, especially with the performance I get from my 5.3.

 

my last check was 20mpg around town ******* the living **** out of it, if i ease on it, i'll get 23 around town. If i go on trips at 75mph i get 20, long trips at 55, 25mpg

 

thanks for the input guys. My price range is about 10k. that is the UPPER LIMIT. I was hoping to get 8-10k for my truck. They only offered 7k. I went at them with 8k. I know for a fact it is totalled now, so I am starting my search. I've only got about a week to find something. I am in NE texas.
