I wouldn't tow with it and I wouldn't think about touching the suspension until this is done with.

Find another body shop, show them the problem you are seeing and get their opinion. Get a WRITTEN estimate (probably be a frame replacement if it's what you are saying), make sure it includes all problems that weren't fixed - any parts to be used insist on GM original parts to be included in said estimate. Take a copy of that written estimate to the insurance company and demand it be fixed right. If they balk, look up your insurance commissioner and file a claim - he is the person responsible for making insurance companies do their job.

From experience.

Call a lawyer. Most will talk to you for free the first time. Call YOUR insurance, not theirs.

They are doing what they are suppose to do, fix it the cheapest way possible. You are not their #1 priority. The money they save putting you off or even fixing cheaper is money in their pockets. Insurance companys invest their money, so the longer they keep it, the more it makes them.

Get the trade-in offered in writing. You can sue them for the decrease in value. If they dont want to go this route, file a small claims law suit personally against the person who hit you.

I fought with one adjuster for 3 months. He wanted to cut a car in half from the junkyard and weld it together in my 9 month old car. The final call, 3 months later, I said "I WANT NEW PARTS, YOU ARE NOT PUTTING A WRECKED CAR CUT IN HALF ON MY NEW CAR. I WANT NEW PARTS AND MY LAWYER SAID YOU HAVE TO GIVE THEM TO ME!!!!!" He calmly said, "you re right, should done it right the first time, I ll have you a check sent out today." And he did. A lawyer told me this on a free consultation. He said he would even draft me a letter, for free, if I needed it. BTW this wreck was MY fault and MY insurance company and they still fixed it right.

They want you to get frustrated and give up. Fight.

Again, talk to a lawyer. Even if it cost you $400-$500 it ll be worth it in the end.

Good luck.

Sounds like it's the at fault driver's insurance company that is hosing you?

Why would you put a suspension lift on a broken truck and you have no money

Go higher up and just say you will get someone that will actually help with your problem. If you don't get answers that you like just keep digging until it works in your favor.

Where was the truck hit?

Towing - a bobcat is not a light load. Your truck already "drifts, pulls" to one side. It's only going to get worse with a trailer for one, and then another heavy load in back. Trailer breaks or not, it's not going to make the situation any better.
Gas mileage - Your alignment is still out of whack. Think of it as if you're driving around with the parking break "on" all the time. It's dragging, and it's making your truck work harder. So that's where the bad gas mileage is coming from. That's not going to get better until the frame is straight, then and only then you can get it aligned. Look at the corners of your tires, that's a dead give a way right there.
Lift - if your frame is still bent, then putting a lift on isn't going to improve anything. It'll make things worse. You're trying to lift the front end that's already not lining up, and then putting drop brackets on is going to be tough.
Breaks - So where was the truck hit from and what side/s was this. Are you getting a vibration from somewhere?
High-pitched whine-drone getting louder when driving - sounds like a bearing is going out, might be related to your breaking problem. Does it go away or get louder if you turn the wheel slightly to one side or the other while driving? If it's a whistle, then it might be a door jam.

Bottom line, make a list of what's going on. Take it back to whoever worked on it, you're not paying for the total bill, you're paying to have it fixed. Don't worry about what the adjuster is "saying" that's it's going to cost. Tell the adjuster that your truck is still not repaired to working/driving condition. Get the shop forman to drive your truck, and show him what your issues are.

Well, my insurance company is the same as his insurance company, so I'm sure I'd be in much better hands if he had somebody different, and it wasn't their own money. As far as the lift kit goes, that was going to be my project for next summer, if my tax return was what I expect it to be.

The truck was hit straight from the rear, by a honda accord coupe (one of the older ones), at highway speeds. It's going into the shop for the 4th time tomorrow to try and address the noises I'm hearing. As far as the hole goes, I called some local chevrolet dealer body shops here. Each asked where I got my work done last, and when I told them, they all said the same thing "Well, that frame shop is one of the best. If it has left their shop, you're all set." On that note, I'm just going to have to keep an eye on it, and see how it does. If it gets bigger, I'll know there's an issue, and I'll have to take them up on their warranty.

Do this, or something, anything.......NOW!

The longer you wait the harder it is going to be to prove that your issues are from the same thing. Get any and as many estimates that can even possibly be related to the wreck, pay if you have to because it will be worth it. And if worse comes to worse, hire a good lawyer. If what you say is happening, is really happening, it seems like a fairly cut a dry issue to me, it'll just take time for it to come together. In all honesty take care of the estimates asap!

Well.... Just got a call from my mechanic. Seems the noise is the front U-joint and the rear differential... Total cost to repair: ~$2500.... Total cost insurance will pay $0. They say it's wear and tear... Not accident related, seeing as there's no evidence of impact to the differential. Looks like the silverado and I are parting ways....
