My truck is my commuter car - about 120 miles a day. 19.8mpg, sometimes it peaks a little over 20.

I can knock down 20 cruising at 78-82 on the Interstate, with a best of 22 mpg going down a 4 lane highway at 65-70.
Oh yeah, 5.3 ext cab with 3.42's and 255 75 R16's.

Best I got before the exhaust and the tonneau was 19.25, 85% highway. Now that the cold weather is hear and I fill up roughly every two weeks I'm getting between 15.8 - 16.5

I usually get in the 16-17 mpg range in mixed city/hwy driving. I don't usually get much better on the highway.

The LS1 actually gets better mileage than the 4.8. I was only getting 14-15 w/ the cammed 4.8.

I do a mix of driving but my truck sits an idles a lot. If I had e fans I know the 5.3 and 3.08 would put me over 20. The best I think I've gotten so far is mid 18's. Usually from 16-18. The most on one tank was 423 I think.

BTW that was a good episode and I think of it when I'm low on gas.

The farthest I've driven while the low fuel light was on was about 50 or 60 miles. For Florida people I drove from the otherside of Ocala (drive in movie theater) to Melrose, then to the gas station the next day. I drafted a semi the whole way.
