Default Fuel Gauge DIED

Hey fellows I know there have been a ton of threads started about the common problem with the sending unit on our trucks,And mine has been doing the same ****,But today I disconnected and removed the battery to replace the windshield washer reservoir,And now the damn gauge is layed all the way to the right below the full mark like almost at the bottom,And won't budge What the hell???? Think it finally died or something else ? Thanks in advance................
