Thanks for the backing of the numbers. I'm stand corrected. I will say though, the 15.14 I posted was with no weight removal and hitting rev limiter on 1-2 and 2-3. I'm not making excuses, I'm just mentioning that. That's what I ran before the converter.

Maybe its the humidity here in florida making the numbers so high here in FL, I don't know. But 15.14 is very respectable. besides look at it this way. a rcsb hemi weighs 4800-5000 lbs, (mines probably near 5000 cause its the SLT fully loaded, and with my fat *** in it its near 5200 haha) and a rcsb silvy weighs like 4300-4500. that's 500 lbs difference. 345-290 is 55 hp right? and for ever 100 lbs you need 10 hp right?. well that means in the hp to weigh ratio the hemi only wins by 5 hp. that's it. and then the drag numbers. the ram is taller and wider than a silverado. that's more drag, you're going to need more than 5 ponies to move this brick of a truck. so is the hemi over rated? hell no. just over marketed. it has all the ponies there, if not more than advertised. its just too damn big of a truck.

so yes, a scsb silvy can beat a hemi. the numbers add up. but an ext. cab silvy probably can't keep up..... stock to stock.

I see your point ... I don't argue that it takes more to move more. I think the underlying issue here though is that the Didge truck (as a whole) is quicker than the Chevy truck or vice versa, whichever side you want to look at it from. Given the Dodge outweighs the Chevy, and the engines are comparable considering the weight factor, the Dodge just has a hard time keeping up. The issue isn't about the Hemi, or the 5.3, it's the whole truck. These motors wouldn't be **** without something to put them in. Do you see what I'm getting at?

BTW .. I won't argue 15.14 being repectable for a stock truck, as it is.

So hemi38.Would you say a fair statement is the 5.3rcsb VS the hemi is a lot closer in 1/4 mile ETs than most of the DTW guys think?

bozo (that's the nickname I gave gonzo on the DTW forums, nothing against him, personally ), yeah probably. btw i'm chevy38fan on those forums.. i joined those forums before I owned a hemi, hence the name . BUT, I've out ran many 5.3's on the street. not sure if they're 4x4 or not, I just race em and kill em. I only post about killing ricers mostly though.. they're more fun to kill.. muahahahahaha.

I don't know rgvsierra. Look at this way. It's a computer.. Has your computer at home ever given you problems before? and then gone away and never happened again, for no particular reason? I think that's what happened this time. The computer had a brain fart. They're not as perfect as we think they are. they are made by humans you know. On the first run I spun atleast 30 ft. its very easy to roast the tires. 2nd run no wheel spin, but I lagged on the GO pedal (so I wouldn't spin) and the computer farted, it happens.

well since you talk about home computers, yea, it has had hicups, but my truck computer, no never nada, only time it has done something ugly is when i push it past 6000. regularly shifts at 5900 with no problems, if i let it do the shifting itself, i dont have to worry, not even when spinning at the track..

you know i'd dont think i've read from another hemi owner what you've put, u still have dreams of that 5.3 chevy that you passed up for the dodge?. heheh

Shifting problems on a stock Hemi.... That is unheard of. What are you manually shifting? My friend's Hemi QC ran a best time of 15.9 leting it shift on its own. I really think it's true... You are pissed off because you could have had 5.3.
